No meetings in December!

It’s the festive season! That means in Bahrain we have a busy social calendar right from the 1st of the month! The BWC is participating in the Island’s first Cat Festival! Titled Meow Day. Then there’s a slew of  celebrations running up to Bahrain’s National Day, after which there’s Christmas. Yes! in Bahrain we say Christmas!

So, since last year we decided that it would be the perfect month to get together for a social. And that’s all we’ll be doing as the BWC. The dates will be finalised and intimated to our paid members.

But, watch this space! January it’s membership time and the kick-off to what’s already looking like a busy 2018. Do come and renew your membership, OR sign up for the first time. It’s only BD10 for the whole year with a calendar of events that will keep you writing or improve your writing or take you to the next level!

ANOTHER BWC MEMBER LAUNCHES A BOOK!

A few years ago Chandan Sengupta decided to enter a competition that the BWC had hoped to have as a nation-wide contest open to all writers writing in English in Bahrain. The only guidelines were the story had to be based in Bahrain and under 30,000 words.

For a number of reasons that competition didn’t materialise. But it was in an attempt to have a viable entry for it, that Chandan sat down to write what eventually grew into his first full-length novel – Land of Two Seas. The book is being launched in its print edition on Friday, 19th February at 11:00 am at City Centre Mall in Bahrain. Thereafter it will be available at the bookstore’s various outlets in Bahrain.
